What Is a Sales Funnel, Yo?
I’ve realized that while lots of people talk about sales funnels, no one actually knows what they are or how to start making one happen.
So I thought I would take this week and go back to the basics.
Basically a sales funnel (I like to call it the “Sell Your Stuff Strategy”) is the journey people take from landing on your site (or somewhere else) and buying the products/services/whatever you are selling.
Here are some images of a sales funnel I found on the internet!
Basically, it’s divided into 3 categories: Leads Prospects Customers
The Leads come in, and as they go through the experience with you, they become prospects and then customers.
Basically, you are inviting a bunch of people to a big house party and then inviting the people you like to more different parties that become smaller and smaller until YAY! It’s just the group you want.
Most people think a sales funnel (or a sell stuff strategy) is a blog > list > customers.
This is why everyone stresses out about their blogs so much so that they don’t actually get anything done because that is where all the energy goes and most people feel like their blog is what gets them clients.
This is also why so many people blog every week but still don’t make sales and can’t convert.
Your Sell Stuff Strategy is not linear.
It is more like an ecosystem.
It is a web of interconnected actions that help compel your prospective “lead” to buy. It’s not JUST Instagram or the blog or the newsletter or that Twitter post -- it is all about how you utilize all those pieces together to make sales. Your sales funnel is about finding the right combo of actions and doing a little something everyday and, as a result, your perfect person inches closer and closer to hitting the “buy now” button. They go deeper into your party.
So instead of sitting down and laying out a sales funnel, think about all of the actions you can take each day to help make people confident enough to buy.
As we speak, I am putting the finishing touches on my workshop. We will be actually unpacking the Sell Stuff Strategy and turning it into a schedule of simple actions you can take each day based off of your brand chemistry type and business.
This is really good stuff, and I am excited to share it with you along with the SSOD members.
If you are NOT going to be there live, it will be recorded along with a workbook you can work through and have your own day long workshop whenever you want.
I also am creating a Q&A 2 weeks later for anyone who has questions about the workshops while they are doing it but couldn’t be there live.
